Then...
Based on a suggestion by Walker's American friend Robbie (who also lived in Cambridge for a while) we visited the Duxford Imperial War Museum just south of Cambridge. It was an RAF and then US Air Force station during WWII and has a long history of flight.
riding the double decker bus to duxford
lots and lots of planes on display
alice checking out an original "anderson" bomb shelter
Norman Foster designed the building that holds the American planes -
only John was interested in the original post-war prefab house on site
on the previous weekend, alice and walker saying 'feed me' at a local pub
and the kids and John going up the stairs to huge slide at the local indoor pool, while Sara sat and knitted a scarf in the stadium seats - she's become very domestic
we are gearing up for half term holiday - I'm headed to Switzerland, Austria and Germany mid next week to see interesting affordable housing and prefab - and to visit cousin Jennifer and husband Rand -
and Sara and the kids are spending a few days with Sara's friend Jane and husband Graham on their farm in Wales - and then we all meet up at Mo's house in Hampshire for a little birthday celebration for Sara and Walker -
